How to Apply for a NovatoSpirit Scholarship
NovatoSpirit’s athletic scholarships are for after-school sports programs in Novato. The scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and each scholarship provides funding for participation in an athletic program for one full year, season, or class cycle. Participants that have demonstrated good attendance and behavior may apply for a renewal of their scholarship for up to 5 years, contingent upon NovatoSpirit’s available funding. A waiting list will be kept active for 2 years.
NovatoSpirit offers scholarships for the following activities:
- Martial arts (such as karate and tae kwon do)
- Dance (such as ballet, tap, jazz, hiphop, and other dance forms)

Please Note: NovatoSpirit provides funding for instruction only. NovatoSpirit does not provide funding for any equipment, uniforms, shoes, or any other gear. Families are responsible for paying these fees.
Who Can Apply?
Youths living in Novato or attending Novato schools between the ages of 7 to 18 years may apply for a NovatoSpirit scholarship, as long as they are from families living at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Youths with Medi-Cal health insurance are eligible. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the NovatoSpirit Board of Directors and are subject to available funding.
